As a kid, Steve Tobak was well-spoken and read, but this did not translate into his professional life. He was terrified of giving presentations and often spoke before he thought. At one point, one of Steve’s managers thought that he was illiterate.
How did he overcome such obstacles? Steve’s passion for marketing and sales required dramatic, across-the-board improvement if he wanted to get anywhere at all in his career. And while Steve, is now known for his communication skills, he emphasizes that it wasn’t easy. He advises that if you want to get ahead, you’ve got to be driven to succeed and work hard to overcome your limitations.
