Introducing The Peninsula Club Mentor Program

Being a Toastmaster for the first time can sometimes feel a bit daunting, but remember that we are here to support you along your journey to become the best speaker and leader you can be.

With these two goals in mind, the Peninsula Club Officers would like to announce a mentoring program for new members. Each new member will be assigned a club officer who will assist you with your first 5 speeches in the Competent Communicator manual. And after 5 speeches, if you feel you still need additional guidance, your mentor would be happy to make new arrangements.

A mentor is more than just a speech coach. Your mentor will also help you learn about the mechanics of a Toastmasters meeting and advise you on the educational tracks that are available to you. No matter if if it’s public speaking, leadership, or participating in your first contest, your mentor will help you to overcome your particular challenge.

“Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction” – John Crosby

As VP of Education, I will be sending out emails that connect the mentees with their assigned mentors. Please check your email inbox for a letter of introduction. We look forward to helping your fulfill your goals in the club!
